Bombfell is a subscription clothing box specifically for men. A subscriber completes an online style profile, then a Bombfell stylist—supported by a powerful algorithm—selects clothes for him each month based on his personal style, size, and preferences. The user has 10 days to decide whether to keep or return each item and only pays for items he chooses to keep. Both technically advanced and human-powered, Bombfell blends efficiency and affordability.

Bombfell fits a need for many men who want to be stylish, but for whom clothing is just a problem to be solved.

The Bombfell-Romulus story:

We came across Bombfell in a 500 Startups batch, after having spent months examining companies in the fashion space. “I could never build conviction around most of these companies’ projected unit economics, and I couldn’t partner with a founding team that didn’t have a combination of tech, ops, and fashion experience.” Krishna recollects. Bombfell stood out because it targeted an underserved segment in a very rational way, and the team had the 3-dimensional expertise we were seeking. Over the years, Bombfell has carved out a leadership position in its segment without burning much capital at all.

Romulus value in action: Creative. Bombfell envisioned a future in which average men cared more about how they looked but didn’t have to spend additional effort in pursuit of that goal. Its team, which blends technical, business, and fashion talent, has forged a unique and creative men’s fashion company.
